Doing photoshoots with my little girls  is probably one of my favorite things ever. I try to do them at least once or twice a month, It's important for me to document these years while they're young (Scarlett 4, Solenne 6 months) and actually enjoy being in photos together with me. I found these dresses at Target one day when I was intentionally trying to ONLY get the things I needed in the store but we all know how that story goes right? That place is mommy kryptonite! The dresses are from Victoria Beckham's line she designed for target and they were just too cute to pass up. A little pricey although, I think the entire line is now on clearance? Eek. Maybe other mom's didn't feel the same way I did about the line? Anyhow,  the pieces were well made, 60's vibes and super chic mommy/daughter matching. Check. Check and check.

My sister shot these pictures for us. She is the best at capturing the little details and sweet moments! So thankful I'll have these photos forever.

The butterfly's loping flight
carries it through the country of the leaves
delicately, and well enough to get it
where it wants to go, wherever that is, stopping
here and there to fuzzle the damp throats
of flowers and the black mud; up
and down it swings, frenzied and aimless; and sometimes
for long delicious moments it is perfectly lazy, riding motionless in the breeze of the soft stalk
of some ordinary flower

Springtime is here in Nashville and the weather is so gorgeous it hurts my feelings a little bit because I know it is so fleeting. The days are so bright and dreamy, they almost seem fake. It feels SO good to wear dresses again! This one is so fun because it almost feels like I'm wearing a night gown that's suitable to wear for almost ANY occasion. Seriously. It's my go to dress for bbq's, coffee dates, dinners, everything! I just always feel relaxed and comfy but also still "put together" as they say. I also like that you can style it a lot of different ways. Can this off the shoulder trend last forever please??

What's your favorite go to outfit that makes you feel comfy yet stylish?

This winter vortex situation is really killing my vibe. Some days I step outside and it's 21 degrees and other times I'm shedding all of my sweaters after 12pm because it's so warm. Where is the sun? Where are the birds? And my chocolate Easter bunny!? I just can't wait for the ease of spring. Being able to step outside and live life outdoors after being cooped up for months. Feeling the breeze on my pale winter skin. These photos were taken on a sunny but definitely not warm day in Nashville but this outfit had me feeling light and breezy. I think it's amazing how sometimes the clothes you wear can really help your mental state towards a sunnier disposition. Or maybe that's just me? These pants are magically comfy, with a warn in feel. The fabric is 100% cotton. not heavy nor light. I'll have to be careful not to wear them every day for the rest of my life. The top I'm wearing is light and delicate and I feel like a friggin' flower in it so, yeah...I think I'm winning the war on winter. Just a few more weeks in coat jail and then all things light and airy! I'm so ready.

Well, it feels like spring has sprung here in Nashville. How did that happen so quickly?! The past few months have flown by and as most of you know who follow me on Instagram, we welcomed our second daughter into the world in mid October. Solenne Elise King, born at home on her due date on a peaceful sunny Saturday surrounded by family. We are so happy to have her and Scarlett is absolutely crushing the big sister role!

We decided to take some Mommy Daughter pictures together to celebrate our newfound girl trio and beautiful springtime weather!

Thank you for all of your kind and congratulatory messages! And thank you for your patience during my blog absence. I have been working hard on finishing up my second record (woohoo!!) and taking care of these two beauties. I plan to do more style posts now that life is becoming a bit more manageable!

Xoxo.

Tour Roundup (pt.2) Seattle/Portland

If I were forced to pick a favorite city to visit on tour it would have to be Seattle, WA. Closely followed by Portland,OR. So I felt like I wanted to include them both in my last tour recap blog post.

These were also two of my favorite days on tour. We spent them trekking through the city trying our best to blend in like locals and find the best coffee+treats. Honestly, nothing makes me happier!

All of a sudden I felt like we were in Paris! Our Cybex Butterfly Priam Stroller was a total dream on this tour to get around in cities!

Tour roundup (pt. 1)

Me and my daughter had the opportunity to tag along on my husband's tour with Twenty One Pilots this summer and we had the best time!

We got to visit so many cool cities and go on a lot of little family adventures. I probably have 500+ photos on my camera roll from the summer long tour so I thought I'd share some of my favorite moments.

Happy Friday!

Today was so great!  We took a little family outing to grab coffee and visit one of my favorite new spots in East Nashville. Flwr Shop is located inside of a beautiful old house and is positively swoon-worthy! It has a rich, dark aesthetic that draws you in. I love the uniqueness of all of the flowers and that wall paper!!! I can't.

Hello All,

I'm SO thrilled to be announcing my second pregnancy due in October with the love of my life! This pregnancy has already been very different than the last, as the first was a bit of a surprise and I was much younger. Since moving to Nashville last June, a new baby was quick on our agenda but it really took some time the second go round and was often disappointing and discouraging as the months rolled by. Needless to say when I found out I was expecting last January during a very snowy season, my heart was instantly so full of warmth and love for this new life growing inside of me!

Scarlett is very excited and curious, asking me a million adorable questions and talking to my belly constantly. She says she wants TWO babies, a boy and a girl. But she wants a sister first!

i had to break the news to her that I only have one in there at the moment so I hope she likes it!

Im really excited to do some more pregnancy style type blog posts now that I'm past the first trimester and getting that energy boost!

Thank you for all of your kind responses on my Instagram! Darren and I loved reading them all!💗

I had the privilege of snapping some photos in one of the most gorgeous bars I have ever seen in Atlanta with my good friend Mary Caroline. The entire space is designed and inspired by Wes Anderson's films. The monochromatic colors and vintage look had me feeling ALL the Margot Tenanbaum vibes. Infact, the name of the place is called "Bar Margot".

But enough about the setting. Let's talk about these silk PANTS! Aren't they the most dreamy things you've probably never imagined because your pant fantasies can't even fathom the beauty of such a creation? Yeah, I thought so.

They are like wearing the most luxurious pajamas out of the house. Only, you're not subject to only wear them to the grocery store for a late night ice cream run. Although, you could (and totally should). But you could also wear them to Alexa Chung's house afterward and feel almost cooler than her. Hey, I said Almost.

I have a lot of love for T-shirt dresses.   They make my life easier, comfier and chic-er. Triple win!

This one has a major "I just stole my husband's button up" vibe. Also, this little laser cut crop?! Yes and yes.

A very handsome tv character from one of the best tv drama's ever once said "Make it simple but significant." That is my new goal for dressing in 2016!

Oh the appeal of a well cut, simple and wearable dress. One that doesn't scream from the rack "Look at me, I'm fabulous!" but when you put it on, it shines with uniqueness and charm. The laser cut sleeves make me *swoon* as well as the silhouette that adds a whimsical flair. I could go on and on but I'll just stop here and stress the importance of owning a dress this chic and mysterious. If only so that you can feel like a modern day Mary Poppins or minimal Stevie Nicks. "Bella Donna!"

Vodka and vogue.

Hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing Christmas. Mine was spent exactly how I wanted It to be spent. My huge family piled in my house as we laughed and danced with babies, cooked and hung out, made fire pits and drank way too much spiked egg nog. During the holidays I always want to feel stylish but comfy. I chilled in this sweater and ox blood skirt more than I'd like to admit. Just didn't feel like wearing anything else! Haha. Ox blood and vogue forever.

Now for some more spiked beverages...

Hello world,

Still here. Still inlove with this season of life. It's absolutely my favorite! I love getting dressed more than ever lately. Jacket and boots forever please! right now I am OBSESSED with neutrals. I know, I know it's so trendy right now but I can't help it. Neutrals are soothing and remind me of oatmeal, beach sand and fluffy animals. I just can't get enough!

I want to incorporate more into my home eventually too. I haven't even started the process yet but oh-em-gee I can't wait!

I hope you are all enjoying the holiday season and finding tons of inspiration. I can't stop making glittery leaf garland and natural wreaths. Someone help! This is not typical of me.

Music is still coming along slowly I'm sad to say. Life is just all over the place right now but I'm excited to get some new stuff out of my laptop and into your ears sometime early next year!

Much love!!!

That slightest calm when the summer starts to be hushed away and green leaves start to lose their grip. Fall is probably my favorite season. Being born in October makes it feel even more eventful. Sometimes I almost feel weightless this time of year, as if I'm floating through a supercharged romantic state of conciousness. I live for this feeling of being in a subdued novel where I am the main character. In the book, things are simple and wonderful and everything smells great. There is music art and romance and cashmere blankets a plenty. Oh and did I mention it's eternally fall? Sigh....if only!

Stepping back into reality, have you heard about rocksbox? It's actually a pretty dreamy and brilliant branding strategy that allows you to borrow or purchase tons of amazing designer jewelry! I was a tad skeptical at first but when i received my first personalized box with tons of beautiful baubles inside, My heart lit up with girlish delight!  This necklace was my favorite from what I was sent. I had fun playing around with different ways to wear it. I love wearing it backwards like a 90's choker or forwards giving more of a boho vibe!

Happy fall everybody!!!

It's Sunday. I am basically a cat in woman form. My husband leaves for 5 weeks in 3 days on a sold out tour. I'm thankful and sad. I always think I will get better at this part of our lives together but It is sort of impossible. Especially after you've had a child! It's tough and anyone who has a spouse who tours knows how lonely it can be for both parties. All that being said, when i watch my husband perform I know he was born to be just that. I'm excited for him to get to do what he loves and for me to get to cheer him on.

Ive always been a bit more shy. Making music is my favorite thing but traveling is definitely not what I was cut out for.  I have toured the country many times from the age of 14 and though it had its many fulfilling moments, I never quite fell in love with the act itself.

I've done one tour with sucre and It went well but I just don't wake up every morning wanting to be out on the road 6 months out of the year, dragging my toddler from city to city in a tiny space on wheels.

I have hope for artists in the future to be able to sustain a career through social media and live a slightly more balanced life. Gifting fans with enough to make it worth it. I talk to so many tired un-inspired musicians who are trying to keep up with the fast pace of the industry machine who are pounding the pavement only to wear themselves out from the monotonous rhythm of traveling.

I think I'm a person who craves balance and consistency. I also struggle with anxiety so traveling is hard for me.

I'm learning to let go of the industry mold and figure out what type of artist I want to be. I hope to be one who is still current and produces great work. But perhaps mainly via HERE. Maybe it's not face to face but isn't that a whole lot to ask of one person in this huge world with millions of people? Isn't there a less taxing way to share?

Perhaps I'm completely off. Maybe this type of thinking will only land me in the "young female artist graveyard"... But there's no guarantee I wasn't headed there already!

At least I will have my sanity.  and that folks, is worth a lot to me. I look forward to sharing the new music I'm currently working on with you all. And I want to thank you for peering in and taking the time to read, to listen, to be there for me.
